Hello Darkness, Hello Sunshine

To me, at this point, the whole comparing Kobe to Jordan thing is just funny. Not funny cause MJ is the GOAT and he’s on his own planet, but cause hardcore MJ fans always get so tight and upset about it to the point it pisses them off (though Jordan says Kobe is the only who could be compared to him). No matter if it’s the simple common comparison like they did back in 98, to comparing their similar photos over their careers now. They get so upset and it’s beyond humorous to me.

I’m a Kobe fan obviously, and I’ve watched him long enough over the years to know how good the Kobster is. I know what he is and what he isn’t. 

I also know, though I didn’t see that much of Jordan in his glory days (I vaguely remember the the tail end of his Bulls days), he’s the GOAT. The Greatest. I know Kobe will never be the GOAT, and I’m fine with that. I’m content with Kobe being as high on the Top 10 of All-Time list as possible; like how he is on some people’s lists such Bill Simmons’ (#8) and Charles Barkley’s (6, 7 or 8).

If he doesn’t get any higher, I’ll be able to sleep at night. (Though I know he won’t be able to in retirement if he doesn’t have 7 rings— one more than Jordan). But Jordan fans (or stans) shouldn’t be so upset at comparisons as much as they are. I mean, we all know Jordan is the absolute greatest. Period. That’s all you need to know, or say. So chill the fuck out.

I can’t stand the “Making moves” term so bad that it makes me want to A) Punt babies, B) Smash bottles over the heads of folks who say it, C) Repeatedly smash my head against a concrete wall, D) Pay people who do say it to not & E) All over the above. It just seems as people are trying to be cool or whatever, but it’s simply annoying.

I don’t know what I hate more: That or the infamous space in between punctuation thing that has swept the internet. Both drives me crazy to the point I could potentially pop a blood vessel. And just know, if you do that punctuation shit (Which I’ve done enough research to believe it originated from Twitter just like Hashtags) it opens the door for judgment, and me calling you an idiot.   

The Office: Can It Be Fixed?

Transitions of power are rarely smooth — just ask Egypt — so no one expectedThe Office to weather the loss of Steve Carell unscathed. But few could have predicted how quickly the long-running sitcom would devolve from “Must-See” to barely watchable.

Now toplined by an awkward alliance of the eager-to-please Ed Helms and the phoning-it-in James Spader, the show has struggled mightily to redefine itself in its eighth season. But it’s not the new internal power structure that’s solely to blame. The departure of Michael Scott — and Carell’s goofy, glue-like charisma along with him — has exposed foundational rot of the sort not usually seen outside of Schrute Farms. As the show returns with new episodes this week, it’s high time to leave the safe, reflective comforts of our hair rooms and examine just what went wrong — and determine whether there’s any hope of turning things around.

All this junk food, Chipotle basically once a week, eating entire Pizza’s, long extended periods of time going no where near a 24 Hour Fitness in months wasting my $30+ a month, and yet, I can still sustain my six-pack. Not bad, DJ. Not bad at all. 

Though I should feel bad that I’ve set my alarm the past three days for 7am and been up to meet the alarm all three days basically to even contemplate getting up and going to the gym.. but laid my ass back down. I’ll just blame that on my sleeping schedule being fucked worst than the 0-6 Washington wiZARDS and those who actually like that horrible Party Rock Anthem song (That includes me, by the way). 

Only thing I’ve done this week was finally start Driver: San Francisco, watch New Girl, a lot of porn and even more basketball, buy season 7 of The Office for only $15 and reach 19K Tweets on Twitter. Winter Break is a bitch, dude. But at least I still have my six-pack, right?
